This is a preliminary sketch for a commission I'm currently finishing up. It's based on the book; Man-Eaters of Tsavo written by  J. H. Patterson.  The story is also known as the movie; The Ghost & The Darkness.  I'm pushing the expressionistic in my marks so as to convey the crippling fear invoked by the mythology of the lions that was told by the indigenous tribes of the region.  Afterall, it's only in the human imagination that terror ever becomes a true consequence.

Musical Intermission; Red Fang

Nothing against anyone; but living in a metrosexual world where emo-goth-boys with mascara, bubble-gum-eighties-retrograde-pop, and hipsters in skinny jeans seem to consistently demand recognition, this is the most refreshing thing I've seen/heard in a long time. Perhaps masculinity has its place after all. However; as the video illustrates, that's all a moot point because the fantasy-geeks will always reign supreme. Hell yeah. :)
